Elim Park Place is a distinguished and upscale continuing care retirement community in Cheshire, Connecticut, known for providing seniors with not only a comfortable living environment but also exceptional healthcare services. The Riverbend Building is the latest addition to the community, expanding its offerings with 40 new independent living apartments, further enhancing the property’s reputation for excellence in senior living. Set on a lush 40-acre campus, Elim Park Place continues to set the standard for quality and care.
The Riverbend Building project involved significant site reconfiguration, including the relocation of part of the perimeter drive and main entrance approach, as well as redesigning the primary employee parking area and upgrading utility infrastructure to integrate the new building seamlessly with the existing campus. The site, located near the Mill River, required careful consideration of its natural environment, leading to the incorporation of sustainable, low-impact development practices. These included turf paver fire lanes and a series of rain gardens, which not only manage stormwater but also create a beautiful, park-like setting. This design enhances the walking routes adjacent to the building, offering residents and visitors an inviting, tranquil environment to enjoy.
LRC provided comprehensive landscape architecture, civil engineering, and land surveying services to the architectural and engineering team. We also played a key role in navigating the local land use permitting process, ensuring the project adhered to all regulations while delivering a seamless solution. The Riverbend Building was completed in 2012, adding to Elim Park Place’s legacy as a premier destination for independent and assisted living.
